Add the exact original files for this part of the record. Keep them unchanged; a different export or edit has a different fingerprint.

Certificate/license as issued record checklist — Keep the certificate exactly as the issuer supplied it. Save the issued PDF, roster and the issuer’s source record. Keep each corrected version separately.
Your photos and files stay on your device, so keep them.
Keep the receipt file too. The image is a handy copy; checking needs the file.
Your mail app opens a draft. Attach your receipt image and receipt file. Don’t attach your photos or documents. Timevolt does not send it or know whether it was sent.

Records to keep: Issued certificate PDF and roster file
Your device fingerprints the selected file or manifest. Dated follows an independent timestamp; Permanent follows Bitcoin anchoring.
An independent time, tied to the exact bytes.
Give a verifier the exact file and the issuer’s own verification route. This site does not issue or validate credentials.
Keep the originals too. A changed or compressed copy has a different fingerprint.

Real cases where dated records mattered. We don’t claim a time receipt would have changed the result.
A student's awards were called false after the issuing body said it had no record. The first judge had no scan or account of its checks. The appeal panel found an error and ordered a fresh hearing; whether the awards were real stayed open.

Read the decision ›Three former course staff went to jail for false records of who took and passed safety classes. The regulator said their firm's awards no longer counted. Workers needed fresh approved training before doing jobs that required those awards.

FRE 902(13) and 902(14): self-authentication of records from an electronic process and of data copied from a device, authenticated by digital identification (hash values noted in the committee notes); needs a qualified person's certification and advance notice
Hash-based identification is a recognized route to authenticate a file copy; it authenticates the copy, not the truth of content or the date by itself. Rules, not a ruling on timestamp receipts.

A completed time receipt shows that the exact selected file existed by the independently witnessed time. You can check whether a later copy has the same bytes. It does not establish creation time, authorship, identity, event order, location or the truth of the contents.
It does not prove who issued or earned the certificate, that the training happened, that the holder passed, or that any court or accreditor will accept it.
This cannot establish training, a passing result, a genuine issuer or the holder’s entitlement.
These are the bounds of a completed proof. The local tester does not establish any time. The chosen court, scheme or regulator decides what to accept.
Your file stays on your device. During normal receipt creation, your device sends a randomized code made from its fingerprint, plus encrypted recovery data. It doesn't send the plain fingerprint or the random value that opens the code. Keep the original file and the complete receipt for checking. Privacy Policy.

Any change, even one character, makes a different fingerprint. The old receipt covers only the original file, so get a new receipt for the corrected one.
A lookup page asks the issuer's own database, which the issuer can edit or take down. A time receipt is dated by an independent authority and anchored in Bitcoin, so the date does not rest on the issuer alone.

Context for this answerFingerprint the file in question the same way. If the fingerprint matches the one on the receipt, it is the same bytes; if not, it differs.
Both work. Stamping each PDF plus the roster file in one batch gives a dated record per certificate and of the full list issued that day.
Related idea, different job. Blockchain credential platforms sign and publish credentials per holder, often for a fee per credential. A time receipt dates files you already have, with no change to how you issue.
