Keep the form version and the action record.

Consent form records for texts and calls: keep the wording, source-system response and later withdrawal records separately. This is a US record-keeping checklist, not a consent collector.

Keep the originals and the complete receipt. This guide does not issue a date or take a payment.

Now keep it safe: three things
  1. Keep your photos and files unedited. The receipt only matches the originals. Put them in an album such as “My records”.
  2. Save this receipt to your camera roll.

Keep the receipt file too. The image is a handy copy; checking needs the file.

  3. Email it to yourself.Email it to myself

Your mail app opens a draft. Attach your receipt image and receipt file. Don’t attach your photos or documents. Timevolt does not send it or know whether it was sent.

Your records checklist

  1. Save the exact form version.

Keep the displayed disclosure and the relevant page context. Review which calling or texting rules apply to your activity.

  2. Keep action evidence separately.

Retain your source system’s record of the response and subsequent withdrawals. A dated blank form is not evidence that a person agreed.

  3. Keep channels distinct.

Do not treat commercial email rules as interchangeable with calling or texting consent requirements. No message is sent or subscription created here.

Real cases: why records made at the time matter.

A public case about these records. We don’t claim a time receipt would have changed the result.

US · Central District of California · 2024

A consent claim needs more than a stored form.

The government alleged that a lead-generation business supplied personal information with purported consent for telemarketing calls. A stipulated court order resolved those allegations and restricted the business’s lead-generation activities.

This is a Justice Department announcement of allegations resolved by a stipulated order, not a trial finding that any particular form was valid or invalid. It does not establish acceptance of a time receipt.

FCC calling rules · 47 CFR 64.1200

The rule contains different consent requirements depending on the call, technology and destination; it defines prior express written consent.

Do not infer that one form permits every call or text. Review the current rule and applicable state law with qualified advice.

Proves / Doesn’t prove

Proves

A completed time receipt shows that the exact selected file existed by the independently witnessed time. You can check whether a later copy has the same bytes. It does not establish creation time, authorship, identity, event order, location or the truth of the contents.

Doesn’t prove

A receipt doesn't show the person saw or agreed to the form. It doesn't establish identity, permission to call or text, a valid signature or compliance with marketing law.

These are the bounds of a completed proof. The local tester does not establish any time. The chosen court, scheme or regulator decides what to accept.

Questions, answered plainly.

Your file stays on your device. During normal receipt creation, your device sends a randomized code made from its fingerprint, plus encrypted recovery data. It doesn't send the plain fingerprint or the random value that opens the code. Keep the original file and the complete receipt for checking. Privacy Policy.

Does a dated form prove someone agreed to it?

No. Keep separate evidence of the person's action, the disclosure shown and any later withdrawal. A receipt cannot authenticate the person.

Will this page collect opt-ins or send messages?

No. It is a records checklist. It does not collect consent, subscribe anyone or connect to a messaging platform.

Do email rules apply in the same way to calls and texts?

No. The federal regimes differ, and state rules can matter too. Check the rules for your activity.
